Sr Manager / Director Business Development – New

Summary:

As a Business Development Senior Manager/Director, you are responsible for developing partnerships, channels and Tier one customers for our Security & Storage Products and Professional Services in an assigned geographic area. Your ability to think strategically and creatively to penetrate new markets, new channels and new partnerships is essential to your being successful in this role. Cross-functional teams from our Marketing, Systems Engineering and Product Development functions provide support and tools for you to leverage to attain and exceed performance goals. A great rolodex is a must for this position.

Essential Functions:

  • The essential responsibilities of the Business Development Senior Manager/Director are to work directly with partners/channels/customers to develop new sales opportunities, and to work effectively across functions with other company teams.
  • Utilizing a consultative approach, discuss business issues with prospects and develop a formal quote, a written sales/partnership proposal or a formal sales/partnership presentation addressing their business needs.
  • Respond to RFP's and follow up with customer.
  • Recommend marketing/partnership/channel/product strategies.
  • Provide status information to your Manager including forecast/pipeline information.
  • Identify existing partnership/customer references that can be utilized when reference selling.
  • Provide mentorship and support to more junior Sales Managers.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strategic thinker and proven track records in successful business development accomplishments with storage/IT companies
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills including presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees within the marketing/sales function and across functions including Product Management, Sales Operations, System Engineering, and Product Development.
  • Experience with target account selling, solution selling, and/or consultative sales techniques
  • An aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.
  • Ability to communicate with senior managers about their business challenges and our networking, security & storage solutions.
  • Experience using contact management software.
